City Center East – Atlantic City by MGM
Mirage in 2011?
Oct 2007
MGM Mirage has announced a
plan to build a City Center East between the Borgata and
Harrah’s Atlantic City in the cities H tract. The
estimated $4.5 billion to $5.5 billion project would mimic the
company’s huge $7.4 billion CityCenter project under
construction on the Las Vegas Strip, although on a smaller
scale, according to people familiar with the plans.
MGM envisions a casino complex featuring three hotel towers of
1,000 rooms each and high-end retail on par with the acclaimed
Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. In addition to its
mammoth size, what would distinguish the MGM project from other
Atlantic City casinos are plans for posh condos that would start
at $1 million and top out between $5 million and $6 million,
officials said.

Steve Wynn and Donald Trump Partners?
Read Below
Casino mogul Steve Wynn wants to bring Las Vegas-style glitz and
glamour to Atlantic City
by teaming up with his former archrival
Donald Trump for a $3 billion Mega Resort that could dominate
the heart of the Boardwalk. “Steve and I are talking about
something very exciting and very interesting,” Trump said in an
interview Wednesday. “It would be great for the state of New
Jersey and Atlantic City, but it’s very preliminary.”
Trump declined to disclose details, but people familiar with the
plans said the aging Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino would be
demolished to make way for a gigantic development project. It
would encompass as many as four blocks of Boardwalk property
from Missouri to Texas avenues and stretch out to Atlantic
Avenue on the land side, at the foot of the Atlantic City
Expressway. The Trump-Wynn casino project also would include a
hotel tower rising 50 stories over the beachfront and perhaps an
entertainment pier jutting far into the ocean. A new tunnel
underneath Pacific Avenue would be considered as one of the
roadway improvements needed to accommodate casino
construction. Wynn, who is renowned for transforming the Las
Vegas market with mega Casinos such as Bellagio, Mirage and most
recently the $2.7 billion Wynn Las Vegas, wants to make a
spectacular return to Atlantic City. He left in 1987 after
selling the Golden Nugget, now known as the
Atlantic City Hilton
Casino Resort.
The
Trump Plaza
Casino site would put Wynn in the middle of the
Boardwalk and give him a prime spot off the expressway corridor,
the main entrance into the city. Earlier, Wynn met with Gov. Jon
S. Corzine to discuss the possibility of redeveloping the city’s
former Bader Field airport, but was told that site would take
too long and prove too costly to convert for a casino. Press

NYC to Atlantic City Express Train (Fall of
2008)
Latest information about the ACES Train NY to Atlantic City!
New Train Service New York City to Atlantic City
Planned – Atlantic City’s casinos, already betting on the
enticing effects of fancy shopping and high-end restaurants,
will try to woo more customers by offering direct train
service to and from New York City. The 2 1/2-hour
Atlantic City Express Service will run from Fridays to
Sundays between Atlantic City and Penn Station starting late
next year. The board of New Jersey Transit approved a three-year
trial of the service Monday. The casinos are going after New
York City gamblers who don’t have cars, part of a market that
falls between high rollers who arrive in limousines and the
lower-stakes bettors who take buses. Prices and schedules for
the service will be determined over the next year, said George
Warrington, NJ Transit’s executive director. Atlantic
City-bound travelers coming from New York by train must now ride
the Northeast Corridor line to Trenton, take a local train to
Philadelphia and then transfer to the Atlantic City rail line.
The new service would not stop in Philadelphia. It would have a
limited number of stops, including one or more in New Jersey,
which will be determined by the casino industry in consultation
with NJ Transit. Three trains would run on Fridays, eight on
Saturdays and seven on Sundays, Warrington said.
The new train service is coming at a time when casinos are
investing millions in Atlantic City. Source = AP writer

have a piano player and someone singing Frank Sinatra and dinner
music," says founder Stephan Genest. "It will be a
relaxed atmosphere for the dinner hours." After 10 p.m., and
going to 4 a.m., "Showtime Tabou" will transform to a nightclub
that will cater to the younger set, including performances that
include classic rock and alternative rock and dance favorites
provided by a DJ. There will also be specialty acts performing
"Cirque-style" routines. The nightclub will offer a cool vibe
since a DJ will constantly provide dance music. However, every
half hour, three different performers will leave their posts as
bartenders, servers and other tasks to take the stage to offer
the crowd a truly unique experience. The variety of
entertainment is impressive. We bring in dancers,
percussionists, singers, rock bands, crooners, disco, whatever
we can to attract a diverse crowd. It’s the kind of place that a
group of people with different tastes can come and enjoy. By the
time the night is over, everyone will hear or see something that
they will enjoy. "Original source -Press of AC June 22nd 2006"
